Meet Olive & Cocoa

I just received this new catalog...Olive & Cocoa this week...and I thought it would be perfect to share in celebration of this amazing Pink Saturday.  I love reading catalogs - it has been one of my favorite past times for many years.  Since I receive so many, I don't always keep the ones I don't recognize...but this one caught my eye.

The cover was so so pretty...completely covered in various shades of my favorite color pink.  And the tag line was great.."simply unique giving...textures of imagination".  Here are some of my favorite selections...

Hope you enjoyed my favorite
picks from Olive & Cocoa....
And Happy Pink Saturday!!

Look what the tide brought in.....Wisteria Style

As much as I love winter...okay I don't love it but I do like alot of aspects of it (skiing, cute boots)...I can not wait for Spring. Especially since in South Florida - it feels like it's already Spring. So with that, I couldn't resist sharing some pre-spring coastal themed accessories from one of my favorite online stores...Wisteria.

For those of you are not familiar with Wisteria - you should check it it has such a nice variety of home decor accessories and furniture.  Here are some of my favorite picks out of the current catalog:

Hope you enjoyed some of my favorite things.
Happy Wednesday!

Sassy Nancy....

Nancy is a sassy tortoiseshell Exotic Shorthair (which is a breed of American Shorthair and Persian). And she's a miracle cat too.

When she was 18 months old, she was diagnosed with a genetic and incurable heart condition known as another words, they told me she was dying of a serious heart disease and most likely would not live for more than 12 - 18 months because of the severity of her condition.

Well - I was determined to see if I could find a cure for her.  I took her to multiple vets, researched all the options and literally called & wrote veterinarians across the country that specialized in cardiology.  They all pretty much told me the same thing.  Everyone said the best I could do is to give her daily medication...(she takes 5 pills a day and a baby aspirin every three days)...and hope for the best.

Well, I am happy to say that on January 31st, Nancy will celebrate her 11th birthday.  She takes her pills like a champion...and while there are days where she is really congested and sleeps alot  - she has thrived.

She crosses her front two paws when she is relaxing and sleeping.
She always picks the most comfortable places to relax.
She is thinking - why are you putting that camera in my face.
Alright, enough photos already!
Okay - I see you're not going away so I'm going to just relax
and pretend your not in my face snapping away.
That's it - I've had it.  Stop taking my picture.  You have enough!!

The Stylish Blogger....

Well, I was so touched to be awarded the Stylish Blogger Award from TheLennoxx and Seaside Style.  These are two great blogs that I read every I appreciate the fact that they recognized me.  That was very sweet.

And with that - I have to pass it on...

And as I understand it - once awarded you have to recognize the blog that awarded you (see above), tell 7 things about yourself and then pass it on to new ten bloggers.  So here goes:

I'm a Florida Girl but I love to ski...

I'm always on the road for my job - and rush around....

I love to travel and have visited 6 out of the 7 continents.  I have hiked Macchu Picchu and The Great Wall of China....I've snorkeled the Great Barrier Reef and The Red Sea in Sharm el Sheik...I've traveled down the Nile and visited the Great Pyramids of Giza.
My husband and I at the Great Wall of China outside Beijing in 2007.
I love my pets (2 dogs and 4 cats) more than anything....
This is Trixie

I love the color pink....
My living room.

For my 50th birthday celebration, I took one month off by myself...drove across country, rented a house and took pottery lessons in New Mexico, drove the old Route 66 from Amarillo, TX to Santa Rosa, NM and took a wild horse photography trip in Southern Colorado.

I'm a closet & wanabee interior designer and architect.  In 2009 I went on a coastal living kick and my entire house is themed in coastal and sea inspired colors and decor.  My pride and joy is that I designed my kitchen and had it built from my sketches.

These photos are before the kitchen was completely done. The cabinets are actually a very soft blue.  Called Winter Sky.  Not as bright as the photos show. I could not decide on the backsplash...and a couple other I will be doing a post on the completed version very soon.  It looks a little different now...I have infused in some red accents and a couple chalkboards and other little details that I love.

Ten blogs to recognize and pass this onto (and please don't feel obligated to do this...your just some of my favorites):

Heaven's Walk
Tattered Rebel
Her Whimsical Musings
My Shabby Chateau
The Essential Beachcomber
Shellebelle's Tiki Hut
@ the beach
Cappucino Cottage
Doberman's by the Sea
Sally Lee by the Sea

Stop by these great blogs....and have a great Tuesday....!

A Coastal inspired Sisal Vase by Seaside Style...

I wanted to introduce you to a brand new coastal blog called Seaside Style.  Many of you who read my blog (and I guess the name of it makes it clear)....know how much I love a sea inspired lifestyle.  So I'm always looking for new sources for ideas and inspiration.  And I found one with Linda's blog.

Here is a very cute (and looks to be fairly easy) sisal vase that Linda made...which looks like a great project spring project.  I will definitely be copying this...for my outdoor patio this summer!

Here is the link to learn how to make this cute little vase.
I really like this design made from seashells.

Please go check out Seaside Style - we all know how nice it feels to get visitors & comments when your just starting out!!

A Starfish Update....

I received several emails about yesterday's post on ZGallerie's pre-spring coastal collection - especially about the white Starfish bowl....

White Starfish Bowl
That also comes in silver......
Silver Starfish Bowl
So I thought I would post some photos of how wonderful the bowl looks in my kitchen...and the best part - it's amazingly affordable and very substantial.  It looks so much more expensive than it for those that are is the link that takes you right to the starfish bowl.

Here is the white one in my kitchen...

Hope your having a great week so far...
even if the weather is crazy!!
