Inspiration for Coastal Decorating....

I've been getting the urge to do a little re-decorating in the new year...keeping the coastal theme of course.  There's no way I can change that up as I have so much already invested, it would require a complete redo which is just not an option. So I'm thinking a few enhancements like some interesting wall coverings...some new slipcovers and a few other little pieces here and there.

I spent some time on Coastal Living tonight...and thought I'd share some of my favorite inspiration photos from their 15 Easy and Inexpensive Coastal Upgrades piece.

I love each of these looks...especially the orange and turquoise.  I would not normally put those two colors together...but this room looks fabulous.  And I just love that fireplace.  I would definitely decorate it like this if I had one. Wishful thinking.  Hope you enjoy these photographs...pop over to Coastal Living for more.

Have a great week!!

A Coastal Christmas Warm up....

Ok, I know it's entirely too early to be thinking about holiday decorations...(or is it?)...but I just had to share these driftwood treasures from At West End.

I just love the way that driftwood fits into my coastal holiday decor.  So how about you?  Are you dreading the thought of decorating for the holiday season or are you ready to get all your goodies out?

A Surfer Chic Beach House...

I took an unscheduled and unintentional month off from blogging due to work commitments and boy have I missed it. It's incredible how quickly 4 weeks flew by...wish there was some way to slow time down.  I'm going to catch up on all my favorite blogs this afternoon so I look forward to seeing what everyone else has been up to. So now on with it...

I love this surfer chic beach house with a 1960"s style featured in House Beautiful.  Such great use of textures and colors.  The yellows, greens and orange shades are amazing.  And so is the last photo - which is the view.  Can you imagine having that view in your backyard?  WOW. Check out House Beautiful....it has a wonderful array of home decorating ideas.

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Loving Beautiful Details by the Seashore

The last few months, I've taken a bit of a break from Etsy.  Not because I was tired of all of its amazing shops and offerings...but because quite frankly, I bought a little too much and was running out of room.

My decoration style definitely leans to the less is more look...so I found I was buying things on Etsy that I liked...but just keeping them in a cabinet and rotating them in and out.  So I recently gave away many of my treasures that I don't have room for - so that I can spread the Etsy love to friends and family.  So with that - I've started to spend a little more time - browsing around,  getting ready for holiday shopping that's hard to believe - is right around the corner.

So with that - I wanted to feature one of my very favorite Etsy Shops...Beautiful Details by the Seashore.  Carol and her husband Andrew are an amazing husband and wife team (she's the Mermaid...he's the Surfer) that share a passion for all things about the ocean.

Here are some of my favorite things that are currently listed in Carol's shop.

I've purchased several of Carol's bottles for my home...which I absolutely treasure...and one of her painted whelks with an air plant.  The attention to detail and care she puts into each of her creations makes them so special.

I hope you enjoy viewing my selections.  It's hard for me to pick my favorite...I think I like the weathered sign that says "On this site in 1897, nothing happened".  That's pretty cute.

Which piece is your favorite?

Anthropologie....the all in one shopping experience

Who doesn't love Anthropologie?  It is absolutely one of my favorite places. It's the best shop for women...it has great clothes, jewelry, housewares, linens, books and specialty items for your kitchen.  (they have awesome hardcover home and fashion books)

It really is the best all in one place to get your shopping fix on.  So today, I thought I'd share my favorite home accessories.  Each one of these would be perfect for the coastal chic home.  Hope you enjoy!!

So next time your around an Anthropologie,
you must stop in. If you don't live near one...
order their catalog.  You will love it!

And for some reason...I'm not able to leave
comments on many of my favorite blogs...
Don't know what is happening...
Hope it is fixed soon!
