A Coastal Christmas Warm up...

Well Santa has finally arrived here at Love of the Sea.  I just received my "coastal style" Santa from Wisteria and he is just so cute.  I just love his satin coat with the turquoise and blue seahorses.... 

And as you can see...Santa's workshop is very busy...getting some things painted for the holiday season while he awaits all his other loot coming from My Shabby Chateau.

Trying not to make too much of a mess.

I'm starting to really get into the holiday spirit and have started decorating my house.  As always, one of my very favorite places to pick up coastal christmas accessories is Wisteria.

Look what the tide brought in.....Wisteria Style

As much as I love winter...okay I don't love it but I do like alot of aspects of it (skiing, cute boots)...I can not wait for Spring. Especially since in South Florida - it feels like it's already Spring. So with that, I couldn't resist sharing some pre-spring coastal themed accessories from one of my favorite online stores...Wisteria.

Creating Sea inspired Christmas Ornaments

For those who are familiar with my blog - these last couple of weeks...I've been posting quite a bit about my coastal christmas tree. I was really inspired by the Wisteria  Coastal Christmas collection, starting with the coastal holiday stockings (that just arrived), to my coastal christmas tree inspiration book.  I finally decided on the tree that I wanted to model mine after - and it is the Wisteria tree that I love so much.  So, in getting ready for The Essential Beachcomber's first linky party on coastal ornaments....I've been really busy.  So starting with  my tree....

So I ordered all the ornaments from Wisteria, but I'm making some of my own this year using my stash of sea glass, coral and shells.  I decided to get creative this week....and ordered some supplies that I'm sure will keep me busy throughout the weekend.  The first set of ornaments I'm working on are glass balls, filled with little sea treasures.

I started with the plain balls....

These are the larger 4" ones.  I also have 3" ones as well. 

I don't care for the brassy color and this was all I could find.....

So some sea inspired spray paint to the rescue....

I filled the balls about 1/3rd of the way with glittered sand....

Gathered some of my smaller treasures....

I'm really happy with how they came out...

...now I need to get busy making more.

A Coastal Christmas Warm-Up...

Well, it is way too early to be thinking about Christmas, or is it?  I'm still embracing Fall - and waiting for some cooler crisp weather - which I hear is on the way.  But, I can't help but get caught up in all the wonderful, sea inspired holiday decorations that I'm seeing from one of my favorite online shopping sites - Wisteria.

So with that - I thought I'd put together a little sample of some of my favorite things....to get that coastal inspiration going.  I've decided this year, If I have the time - to make my ornaments and most of my decorations... re-purposing them from things I already have.  Well, that was until I saw these stockings from Wisteria.  I just had to have them....for the mantle I don't have (my fireplace was removed when we renovated last year).

So if you have any ideas on how to display holiday stockings - without a fireplace mantle please pass them along....I gotta come up with a creative way to display them.

I love these stockings!  And all the colors match my house.
So of course, I had to have them.

If anyone knows how to get the holes in sand dollars and starfish...
please let me know.  I can't imagine they are drilled.
But maybe they are???
