Coastal Vignette with a French Twist....

All of a sudden - I'm obsessed with creating vignettes on this antique silver tray I found in my local thrift shop.  I love this piece...it's a nice size and I think it has an interesting patina that adds to it's character.  For now, its in the corner of my kitchen island placed on a distressed pedestal I purchased at Pottery Barn.

I had it dressed up for Christmas and wanted to transition it to a post holiday feel.

Then I gathered some of my favorite things...

I really like how this came out...it looks like a shell flower....with the lettuce coral framing it out like leaves...

Then mixed in some more of my favorite things...some ivory branches and pieces of bleached driftwood...

One of my prized pieces of coral...

And a lovely little sand dollar I found on Captiva Island...

A couple crystal ornaments...

My ever present rusted "antique" looking key...

A couple teeny but perfect tulip and cowrie shells I collected off the beach in Mexico...

Some moss...

A beautiful little tag from Her Whimsical Musings...

A baby pine cone left over from the holidays...

A starfish from Pink Pelican Designs...

Pink and aqua little vintage bottles with coral and lavendar flowers...

A lovely pink and aqua glittered flower from My Shabby Chateau....

Some vintage music sheets from La Pomme....

A special little whelk...

And here it is....

Hope you have a wonderful Monday...

I just discovered you blog & loved it. I'm an interior designer from Melbourne, Australia & I found it very inspiring. Blogging is all new to me but I have just set up my own blog

You may like to check it out because I had so much fun doing it. It's got a bit of everything fashion, interiors, food, travel spots - hopefully you will find something in there that you like.
Thanks for providing me with such great entertainment!

Beautiful Debbie! I love how you arranged the shells in the styrofoam. Clever lady! And that pedestal is fabulous. My husband has lots of antique silver he inherited from his grandmother. I might have to dig through his boxes and create one of these displays. :)
