Working with Eggshells....

Good morning and Happy Thursday!  Thought I'd share with you this creative little use of leftover eggshells....I'm going to try this and I'll let you know how it turns out....

Country Living Magazine

Have you ever creatively used leftover egg shells?
Any tips to pass on?

I've used this technique before and it works great. Plus, as mentioned, you can just work the shells into your soil when you plant the seedlings. Have fun with it!!

I crush up eggshells and put them around my roses. I also occasionally put the coffee grinds out there too. That would look pretty sitting on the counter and useful too.

Hi Debbie, that is such a cool idea. How sweet do they look with sprouts of green. So cute and rustic. Pruxxx

I did mine this way for years. You can also do them in the egg cartons themselves and just cut them apart and plop paper and all into the pot (or ground). I always crunch my shells up as I pot the plant. Good luck! Looks like you have a great start! xxoo Diana

My fiend who manages a big garden center tells folks to put an egg at the bottom of the hole and plant your tomato on top of it. She says "it keeps the turtles off yore toe-may-ters" but I'm sure there is a more scientific reason than that.

Take good care,

Karen

PS- will miss you at the shell show on Sanibel

I saw this idea in Country Living, too, and loved it! I've never used left over eggshells before, but I've decided to give it a try after seeing it in the magazine.
Hope you're having a great week so far, Debbie!

Oh my gosh, this is the cutest thing ever, Debbie!!! I love it!
I don't know how to use them...I'm afraid they break, but there must be a trick on Youtube I'd think.

How are you doing, my friend? Good, I hope! My daughter just got here last night and I'm so excited to see her!

I can remember breaking up egg shells to put in the garden soil...back when we had a compost pile, etc! ♥

This is so cute. Love it! Sometimes I've crushed up mine for our dogs. It's very healthy for them.

Blessings!
