Pink Peonies...the delicious looking flower

If flowers were edible...(and I know that some are)...there would be no more delicious flower than peonies.  They look like a cross between cotton candy and swirly pink ice cream.  I just can't get enough of these gorgeous flowers.

They remind me of going to my grandmothers house when I was a little girl...she had an amazing garden and whenever the peonies were in bloom, I would stare at them transfixed, wanting to pick them and bring them inside, but never daring to because I was afraid that my grandmother would get mad at me.

They are not that easy to find where I live so when they are available, I happily over pay to get them.  I was so obsessed with this little bunch of five that I was able to get at Fresh Market...that I had a little photo shoot to capture their essence. My husband was looking at me like I was crazy - but in the end, he had to admit..these were beauties.

Hope you enjoy these precious flowers...

These are just so yummy & fluffy looking.....

Aren't these fabulous....
What's your favorite flower?

Peonies are one of the most beautiful flowers! We had 3 peony bushes in our home in TX...I always wondered why there was always an ant in each bloom...

I wish they would grow here in coastal FL...
Have a wonderful weekend...

They are so pretty. I really like peonies also. You have them displayed so nicely! I really like gardenias because a few of the blooms can make an entire room smell awesome.

Those are stunning. Maybe my Fresh Market has them, too. I feel a trip coming on. I have to drive 30 minutes to get there.

I love tuberoses for their heavenly smell, but for beauty in looks and color peonies are tops! I hope to get a peony plant this weekend!

I Love Peonies...as yes they are edible..but so much prettier to look at (I think)

If they could be candied whole that might be a treat...the Chinese use the petals for tea..and surprisingly, they use the browned petals in salad!

Yup! MY FAVS, Debbie!!! I love the feminine fluffiness, the shape, the scent, and the way they look beautiful in any type of container they're plunked in. ♥ Mine are still blooming and our house is filled with them, too! :)

Absolutely fabulous and a flower you simply can't have too many of. Peony season came and went in flash here due to the heat wave that came out of nowhere.

I can almost smell your pretty peonies, Debbie! They are gorgeous! They grow here, though we don't have any in our yard. My favorite flower? Well, I love so many, that it's impossible to pick just one! But, a few of my favorites are wild violets, pansies, columbine, delphinium, ok, I could go on and on! I love them all:)

These are gorgeous! We had peonies when we lived in Idaho(everybody there does!) I didn't realize how much I missed them. I may have to go buy a bunch for myself :)
I have soooo many favorite flowers. Magnolia, gardenia, bougainvillea, jasmine, lilies, and I know it's considered a weed of sorts, but I love the scent of the blooms of the Mimosa.
Beautiful pics Debbie! I love all the pink!

Peonies are my absolute favorite late spring flower. We have several varieties in our yard and sadly due to the recent heat they are done blooming. Which brings me to the second favorite thing about them---the beautiful green busy plant that remains as a background all summer. Some people shy away from them because of the ants but it has never been a problem and I have heard that they help with the bloom opening.

Peonies are on of the most beautiful flowers I have ever seen. We have a white one in our yard and when it blooms I am just awed by it. I am also a huge fan of Gardenias!

They are just beautiful! My favorite flowers are lilacs but roses and peonies run a close second. I love them. I'll bet your grandmother would not have minded at all...I sure wouldn't mind it if my little grands picked some to bring inside.

I moved some of my peonies from my old house here about 4 years ago and it looks like they are going to bloom this year! Finally!

Have a great weekend..xo Diana

They are just gorgeous, and definitely one of my top flower favs, along with blowsy, heirloom-style roses, tulips, and hydrangeas. Yours are particularly pretty in that sweet baby pink color!

Your peonies are beautiful. Spring just wouldn't be the same without peonies! I always consider Roses to be the royalty of the flower world with peonies and lilacs closely following. What a gorgeous bouquet that makes!!!
Blogger has been strange again this week. Several people lost their followers for a day or two but tonight I lost my post for a few hours and it came back published as a new post! I'll wait and publish a new post tomorrow when things settle down again.
Hope you're having a great weekend.

My absolute favorite flower is this shade of pink peonie, or pink roses.

Just discovered your beautiful blog but am adding it to my daily read list! Your peonies are perfection. Asking a gardener to name a favorite flower is like asking a mother which is her favorite child -- I love them all -- the peonies, the lilac, the pale pink cabbage rose, the simple daisy, the scented bee balm...the list is endless. Just posted my peonies: http://fairfieldhousenj.com/2011/05/18/timeless-treasures/

Pink peonies (all shades of pink) are one of my favorites. I used them in my table arrangements at my wedding. I also had a couple peony bushes in my childhood house and I always remember those black ants that crawl on them! I would love to grow them at my house now but I have to make sure the deer won't eat them...we have tons of deer here! I also love tulips.
