So as part of my closet redo which I covered in this post, I have some decisions to make...that I'd love to get some feedback on.
Option 1...
The idea would be to paint the walls hot pink, the trim and molding white...and the shelving black. The carpet would be a zebra print and an oversized ottoman in the middle of the room in either white or lime green. The windows are white plantation shutters and zebra drapes will be used to frame out an alcove of shelves.
Question - if I go with Option 1, do you think I should go with the plain white ottoman or the bright lime green one? I was thinking the green for some pop of color.

Instead of the zebra carpet, I would go with a hot pink flokati rug, a zebra ottoman, white shelving, molding and plantation shutters with lime green walls. I would drape the alcove with hot pink drapes with touch of zebra. I'm afraid this might be a but too much...but I do love that ottoman. Maybe I could do a contrast with one lime green wall and the other three walls to be pink or white. Both of these options are quite a departure from my normal taste and the rest of my house. I'd don't know why I have this zebra and pink/green thing going on but for some reason I'm drawn to this look for my closet.
And lastly, I could always go to my typical look - that I have through the rest of my house....which is:

This option is my safety zone. As I re-read this over, before I hit post...I'm starting to think I've gone crazy and need to get back on track and pick Option 3.

First off, i LOVE the lime green ottoman! Second, you should not stick with your usual style! Use that opportunity to do something completely different!
Personally, i am not a fan of the pink/zebra combination, for some reason it reminds me of Paris Hilton and i would prefer a more moderate color theme ( green/white/black, no pink)
But, if you feel drawn to it then you should just get out of your safety zone and try it!
So, if i had to choose between both options i would vote for #1. The green walls in #2 are too much "Grinch" to me :D

I think you should definitely go with Option 1 with the lime green ottoman. Come on, you know you'll never do anything that wild in the rest of the house, the closet is perfect!!!!
As for option 3, not an option!

in my opinion the others are not even an option. Too trendy and over board. Stick with #3. More classy and understated, yet with your bright, funky, unexpected and colorful trademark personality.
I agree with Ann-Kay, I like the bright green ottoman, mixed with lots of black and white, very fresh!! If you really want a color on the walls, then I would do a pretty shade of aqua which is so pretty with lime green. Stay with the zebra rug, love it.
How about option 2 with a little bit of the others thrown in for some fun! I know it will be beautiful...just like you! I just need to clean my closet up! heehee! ♥
and see?? I see NO other option than #2!!! I say go crazy in your closet!!! Where else can you do that? and if you love the zebra, which I adore, the green walls just scream out ....DO ME, DO ME!!

I love Option I and would choose a neutral (cream ottoman only because I like a limited color palette and you have plenty of pattern going on! Go for it!

I vote for option 3 as one can't go wrong with aqua. The mood board is lovely.
They are all cute, but I would go with option 3 only because if it were me, I would get tired of the pink and black really quick. Good Luck!

I vote for number 3, Debbie! As others have said, you might get tired of all that pink. You could always add a bit of zebra print, or a splash of pink here and there. I personally think number three is much more calming, and has more of an orderly feel. Good luck with whatever you decide!!
Yes #3 is safe, but the other two are so fun!!! Just think of what a treat it would be to walk into the room after some time away. You can always kick back and soak in your tub, or read a good book in a comfy chair, or even in bed with the soothing colors of the other rooms...but what's wrong with something over the top...just for fun???!!! Go for it!!
Well, THIS gal would go with Number 3 because I think I would tire quickly of the other two...but if you are feeling bold and daring just GO FOR IT. If you tire of it you can always sell the stuff on Craig's List and go back to what you know you love.

I say Go For It! If you don't like it, you can always change the paint. I think the zebra ottoman is FUN! The lime has a tropical flair...either one is FUN!
I wouldn't hold myself back, it's the closet!! A great place to go overboard and let your wildest fantasies come to live!
