Celebrating Aqua and Gold

I just love the color aqua - it is just so soothing and refreshing....which is why I could not resist this exquisite find I acquired this past weekend.  As soon as I walked into a thrift shop and saw this piece .....

I was hooked...and had to have it.  But then I thought - what am I going to do with this?  It's too large and I don't need another lamp...but then I kept on going back, walking by and looking at it....

And then I thought..well, let me measure it, I'll go home and see if I can find a place for it.  Then the guy at the cash register said, someone else was just here and said he was thinking about coming back to buy it.

Well that's all I needed to hear...

I started thinking -  it does match the couch in the family room - but its so large.  Then it hit me - just because it is a lamp now - doesn't mean it has to stay a lamp.  So here it is how it looks now - but stay tuned for a future post - I have big plans for this lamp thrift shop jewel.

I'm linking my thrift shop jewel up with:

Hope you enjoy!!!!

It very pretty. I can't get a feel for how large it is though. I can't wait to see what you do with it.

Well you could always take the lamp part out and make it a floor vase.
