I need a vacation...oh yes I do.

Is this an awesome summer photograph or what?  I found it on Coastal Living and it represents what I expect to be doing in a few weeks time.  After much thought, I've finally selected my upcoming vacation spot...The Cloister at Sea Island, Georgia.

I've never been there before...so I am really excited about my visit.  And I'm driving....which is even better because the last thing I wanted to do was get on a plane.  So I'm going to stop off on some fun little beachy seaside towns along the way.  I'll be driving north from South Florida so let me know if you have any recommendations to check out.

Hope your having a great weekend!

Haven't been there in years...but it was wonderful when we last visited. The area around is so beautiful... And, of course, you will be at the beach. For what more could you ask?

Love the photo...I need a vacation, too!!!

We loved going to Cape Canaveral and it's on your way! You pay a fee to get in...it's only a few dollars but it seems like there are a lot less people on the beach and lots of wonderful shells! And we love Jekyll Island and St. Simon's in GA! My banner that I had up for so long of me walking on the beach was taken on my birthday last year on Jekyll Island...I would LOVE to go back again soon! ♥ Have fun, my friend! ♥

Oh, you are going high class. You will love it. We have not been since the renovation, but there service is first class. We went a couple of times for some conferences through my husband's job, but those days are over. I do miss the traveling we did. Have fun.

Oh Debbie- I am so glad that you are finally getting a break! YOu sooo deserve it. I am glad that you will be driving the coast -what a wonderful trip. Are you taking A1A up? I haven't done that Route in years but I used to love it~

You deserve a vacation! I don't blame you for not flying either ;) It must get monotonous flying all the time. A great place to eat is Dixie Crossroads in Titusville. They have rock shrimp, and corn fritters. YUM! and their straws are made from eco-friendly products!

Enjoy you vacation Debbie!

HI Debbie! Hooray for you - I know you will have a gorgeous time at such a gorgeous location!

I've driven to both St. Augustine and to Savannah from South Florida, so my heart is with you!

We stayed at the Casablanca Inn in St Augustine - if you need to stop for a bite or a break, it's a great location - overlooks the ocean - and next door is a great seafood restaurant.

Will look forward to hearing of your adventures...

Enjoy-
Happy Seaside Sunday-

I've never been to Georgia! On the way up..., St. Augustine is cute and has a couple of neat restaurants. You could check out San Fernandina Beach (for me, haha!!!). See you Mo!!

Oh, and I love that bag..., of course for me it would have to say..., "my life is a vacation", sort of.

Yesterday I was watching a television show about incredible beach houses and one of them was on Sea Island! What a magnificent place to vacation.

Oh, and if you go to Fernandina Beach, eat at Kelley's Courtyard Cafe. Be sure to have Granny Mutt's Blueberry Square for dessert — it is wonderful!

On the way up or on the way back, visit the Kennedy Space Center, it is incredible! Seeing a space shuttle close up is a must. The first time I went we planned to go and didn't allow enough time. We changed our vacation plans, spent the night and went again the next day for the full experience. Remarkable!

Have a great vacation!

I'm thrilled you are going on vacation! Sea Island is fabulous. I would start with a stop in St. Augustine and then I would make a trip up to Hilton Head Island after Sea Island. It doesn't matter where you go or what you do...you just deserve a vacation!!! So happy you are not having to get on a plane and can just take a relaxing drive. Have a wonderful time.

Oh, that looks like a neat place! I haven't been there, but an hour South is one of my most favorite places - Saint Marys, Georia. Well, Cumberland Island is really my favorite, but you have to take the ferry over from Saint Marys to get there. Saint Marys is a quaint little town with a few artist shops, a small book store, etc. I love Cumberland Island - it is a 'National Seashore' and only so many people can go there per day and you have to go via ferry. The wild horses are amazing as are the ruins of the old mansions. Could be a good day trip from your vacation if you were interested.

I know this isn't exactly small town, but if you happen to hit St Augustine and Fernandina Beach, this is in between (but Saturday's only) in Jacksonvill and my family loves it: http://www.riversideartsmarket.com/
