The last couple of years, I have not put up a Christmas tree....mostly because I've been gone over the holidays. Somehow though, I feel without the tree, I've lost the essence of the holiday spirit in my home....and I really miss that.
So this year - I have decided I'm putting up a tree and decorating my house....and with that, I'm keeping within my decor theme and staying coastal. I initially thought that I would be really creative and dig into my seashell and starfish supply - and make all my own decorations. I really want to - but my schedule is such that I don't think I can make that happen...so I'll make a few ornaments and decorations over the next couple of weeks and then turn to Sally Lee by the Sea who has a Coastal Christmas section and also I'll go to my favorite Etsy sellers to fill my home with all kinds of coastal goodies.
To get my creative juices flowing, I've gathered a collection of my favorite trees and put them in my inspiration book....I love them all in different ways - but I need to start narrowing down my choices...so I can get this tree pulled together.
So I am leaning towards...(what else).... a blue and turquoise and green theme...with all kinds of starfishes & sand dollars mixed in.
And of course, white sugar starfish garland - it wouldn't be Christmas without one!

I love the idea of a coastal tree! These photos are amazing. Can't wait to see why you come up with.
What a beautiful collection of trees! I would fill my house with them but the 4 cats would have too much fun!
As much as I love all of those trees I can not be without all of my ornament from over the years. All the one the kids made and that remind me of the past. I will have to insert some coastal christmas in other ways.
OK....now we need to see your tree when you get it decorated....you'll probably outdo all the others!!
Your theme sounds great..., and you can use finger starfish au natural (no paint, no glitter). This year is my first where I make my own shell ornaments!
Oh, me too! I've been thinking about my Christmas trees (I like to do something different every year). The big tree in my guest house is created for my house guests (my daughter and her family) for two weeks around Christmas...this year, it's all about Florida oranges, etc. In my house, a little tree done in an "abbeystyle" way per my abbey style home blog...all white and silve--purity and pefection (with tongue in cheek) :)
What beautiful and inspiring photos! It's so hard to pick a favorite, but I think the last one would be it. I also like the starfish tree topper in on of the shots. What a fun idea!
These are some dreamy Christmas trees, Debbie! Great inspiration for a coastal Christmas! Your ideas sound wonderful... look forward to seeing what you come up with.
Have a great week!

Wow! Those are some of the most beautiful trees I have ever seen. I don't even know if I could pick a favorite. Oh...and I can't WAIT to see yours! hugs- Diana
Those are beautiful trees! I would have a tough time choosing between them.
Mmmmmmmmm......I want to sit in that Adirondack chair next to that all-white Christmas tree on that deck and listen to the waves......
I can hardly wait to see how your tree turns out, sweets! :)

Being from South Florida we always decorated our Christmas tree with shells, starfish etc. When my kids were little we go to the beach find the shells then paint or glitter them for the tree. We wouldn't just use them at Christmas we kept them out all yr long by putting them on others trees and plants we had in our house.
So glad to hear you're getting in the Christmas spirit. I'm going to too this year. I love your idea of the turquoise theme. Who says it all has to be green and red!! I can' wait to see what you do. Love, Pruxxx
Yes...Yes!!! your tree sounds like it will be beautiful!! I never put up a tree either...we always leave for Christmas...so I just decorate but without the tree!!
For years I decorated a little for a festive touch but no tree. Last year I thought no tree this year in the end we put up a tiny tree on Christmas eve no less. Shell decorated of course.
I've always liked the little tree in the second photo you have and have had as inspiration for about 5 years thinking I would decorate one of urns like that outside.
I have a few more of those slightly glittered shell ornaments I blogged about awhile back.
Oh wow, Debbie, these are all gorgeous...I think blue and turquoise would be spectacular! What a great choice...and with starfish and shells, wouldn't it be amazing?
Every year, we have gone to Florida right after Christmas and I always love seeing the boats in people's driveways lit up with Christmas lights, so we may do that with my husband's boat this year and put a big red bow on it, especially because our whole house is lit up like the house in Home Alone--I love Christmas!

What wonderful beachy Christmas trees! I hope you show us yours when you get it up and decorated.
Blessings,
Marcia
We didn't do a tree last year either... darned flu bug. I'm drawn to the candy sweet look of the first, but the last photo is dreamy. Can't wait to see what you do.
My seasonal decorating gets simpler every year :-)
Love these Christmas trees!! Beautiful pictures!
Thank you so much for mentioning our Coastal Christmas section ~ you're so sweet!
I love all these inspiring photographs ;o)
Happy Holidays!
Thank you for the inspiration!
I would love the Hamilton Beach Wave Blender or any new blender for that matter.
