The Stylish Blogger....

Well, I was so touched to be awarded the Stylish Blogger Award from TheLennoxx and Seaside Style.  These are two great blogs that I read every post...so I appreciate the fact that they recognized me.  That was very sweet.

And with that - I have to pass it on...

And as I understand it - once awarded you have to recognize the blog that awarded you (see above), tell 7 things about yourself and then pass it on to new ten bloggers.  So here goes:

I'm a Florida Girl but I love to ski...

I'm always on the road for my job - and rush around....

I love to travel and have visited 6 out of the 7 continents.  I have hiked Macchu Picchu and The Great Wall of China....I've snorkeled the Great Barrier Reef and The Red Sea in Sharm el Sheik...I've traveled down the Nile and visited the Great Pyramids of Giza.
My husband and I at the Great Wall of China outside Beijing in 2007.
I love my pets (2 dogs and 4 cats) more than anything....
This is Trixie

I love the color pink....
My living room.

For my 50th birthday celebration, I took one month off by myself...drove across country, rented a house and took pottery lessons in New Mexico, drove the old Route 66 from Amarillo, TX to Santa Rosa, NM and took a wild horse photography trip in Southern Colorado.

I'm a closet & wanabee interior designer and architect.  In 2009 I went on a coastal living kick and my entire house is themed in coastal and sea inspired colors and decor.  My pride and joy is that I designed my kitchen and had it built from my sketches.

These photos are before the kitchen was completely done. The cabinets are actually a very soft blue.  Called Winter Sky.  Not as bright as the photos show. I could not decide on the backsplash...and a couple other details...so I will be doing a post on the completed version very soon.  It looks a little different now...I have infused in some red accents and a couple chalkboards and other little details that I love.

Ten blogs to recognize and pass this onto (and please don't feel obligated to do this...your just some of my favorites):

Heaven's Walk
Tattered Rebel
Her Whimsical Musings
My Shabby Chateau
The Essential Beachcomber
Shellebelle's Tiki Hut
@ the beach
Cappucino Cottage
Doberman's by the Sea
Sally Lee by the Sea

Stop by these great blogs....and have a great Tuesday....!

A Starfish Update....

I received several emails about yesterday's post on ZGallerie's pre-spring coastal collection - especially about the white Starfish bowl....

White Starfish Bowl
That also comes in silver......
Silver Starfish Bowl
So I thought I would post some photos of how wonderful the bowl looks in my kitchen...and the best part - it's amazingly affordable and very substantial.  It looks so much more expensive than it is....so for those that are interested...here is the link that takes you right to the starfish bowl.

Here is the white one in my kitchen...

Hope your having a great week so far...
even if the weather is crazy!!

A visit from the SeltzerMan...

I stumbled across a great discovery this weekend.... vintage seltzer bottles.  I was in Dania Beach (near Ft. Lauderdale) and stopped in a little antique vintage shop on my way home.  I admired these beautiful green and blue bottles on her shelf...I had never seen anything like them.  She filled me on what they were - and showed me how they come apart.  There was a wide variety of different shades of blues, greens and clears.  They were from the 1920's and were made in Czechoslovakia.  She had bought a man's entire inventory of around 600 bottles...so she had a lot!!  They were in amazing shape - I absolutely loved them and thought they would look great in my kitchen.  I didn't want to carry them around with me - so I told her I'd come back and pick up a few..... but when I returned she was gone.

Being hooked on these bottles, I did a search on Ebay and found a seller who had just listed 7 blue bottles. What a coincidence.  Next thing you know - we were emailing back and forth - it so happened he lived in Miami (another coincidence) and he delivered them this morning.  They are in mint condition.  All cleaned up and shiny.  I wouldn't have even minded them a little smudgy and chipped - but these are just perfect.  So here is how they look in my kitchen.  I LOVE them.
