A visit from the SeltzerMan...

I stumbled across a great discovery this weekend.... vintage seltzer bottles.  I was in Dania Beach (near Ft. Lauderdale) and stopped in a little antique vintage shop on my way home.  I admired these beautiful green and blue bottles on her shelf...I had never seen anything like them.  She filled me on what they were - and showed me how they come apart.  There was a wide variety of different shades of blues, greens and clears.  They were from the 1920's and were made in Czechoslovakia.  She had bought a man's entire inventory of around 600 bottles...so she had a lot!!  They were in amazing shape - I absolutely loved them and thought they would look great in my kitchen.  I didn't want to carry them around with me - so I told her I'd come back and pick up a few..... but when I returned she was gone.

Being hooked on these bottles, I did a search on Ebay and found a seller who had just listed 7 blue bottles. What a coincidence.  Next thing you know - we were emailing back and forth - it so happened he lived in Miami (another coincidence) and he delivered them this morning.  They are in mint condition.  All cleaned up and shiny.  I wouldn't have even minded them a little smudgy and chipped - but these are just perfect.  So here is how they look in my kitchen.  I LOVE them.
