Loving French Country with a coastal feel...

I've always loved the French Country look...with a coastal twist. Although, until recently, I didn't know the look I loved had a name - until I stumbled across a story in Better Homes & Gardens titled...

....What is French Country??   Well, what it is, according to BHG - is an elegant look - with elements of nature and the country mixed in. My own definition - adds in touches of the ocean to give it that sea inspired feel that I love so much.

The primary elements in this look are antiques, mixed in with the colors of blue, yellow, gold and white - with trims of lace and fringe along with decorative finishes of stucco, distressed and patina.  My added in elements are seashells, starfish, crisp white lines and light blue details that represent the ocean.

Here are some of my favorite looks that represent the essence of French Country infused with a coastal twist...

This mantle and mirror as a headboard
is fabulous.  And the seashells...

Gorgeous blues and whites... with
touches of the ocean

What a pretty farmhouse style table....

Gotta have a starfish or two...or three...

Love these slipcovers on the chairs....
I want to copy this look for my dining area

The chair fabric is tres chic.  And the mirror - Oh my!!!

Shells and roses - the perfect combination

Love the gold hues in these rooms.....

This coffee table is fabulous.....

Can't decide what my favorite thing in this photo is...
it all works so well together

Beautiful combination of golds, blues and beiges.....

And last, but certainly not least...
what's French Country without
a tranquil garden to dream in?

Oh, wow! These photos are stunning, and impossible to pick a favorite! I adore the couch in the first photo, the color of the frame is just perfect, and so is that sweet little ruffled pillow. Of course I love toile, so I am drawn to that as well. I am in love with all of the blue and white! And the white table that the roosters are on is so neat! Thanks for all of the great inspiration :)

I can't imagine these gorgeous rooms without the coastal elements... & I can't help but notice how perfectly the blues match your blog background. Soothing & inviting... beautiful!

Well, now you've gone and done it! I'm in love with each and every picture. It would be impossible to pick a favorite but I do love the picture with the white picnic style table and the toile and the roosters. And the roses and shells are divine. Each picture is pure heaven.

J'adore french country myself. The images you posted are all quintessential elements of this design. I wish I have that garden (sigh).

Hi Debbie! Hey, that bed almost looks like mine! You inspired me so much that I'm going to line up some shells on my mantel-headboard tomorrow! :) We sure think alike when it comes to French Country Coastal decor. SIGH!!!!! It's sooooo beautiful! Hope you're doing well, friend!

I love this! I have been struggling with how to incorporate all the styles I love, as you, into one room and you have shown great examples! Thank you!!
