A mixture of Vintage, Seashells and Fall....

I'm still working on my Fall tablescape..it's hard to get into the swing of things when it's 80 degrees outside.  However, Fall will be here before I know it - so I'm getting busy.  I've already made the centerpiece which is a cloche filled with seashells, moss balls and other Fall inspired pieces...

....but I still need to work on the accessories that will go around it (I have a really long table).  The challenge is my home is decorated in coastal cottage and its hard to work in Fall and keep the coastal feeling.  So I made two more pieces that blend a sea inspired feeling with fall colors - to work with my centerpiece - so I am pretty close to pulling the whole tablescape together.

Being a vintage loving fanatic - I wanted to tie in two of my vintage milk bottles.  One of the most important elements that I want on my tabletop is to have varied heights and shapes and sizes - all working together  - which is why I selected two different sized bottles.  I put small river stones on the bottle of the larger one and kept the smaller one plain.

Then I took some lavender that I purchased from and Etsy Shop....

And then I took the green, orange and ivory dried rosettes that I purchased from Michael's and customized them by changing around the color schemes...and cutting the stems down to size.

From there, I took the empty stems that were left when I removed some of the rosettes and hot glued some little seashells & coral onto the stems.....

And added in a little bit of raffia, a sand dollar and a sugar starfish....and there you have it...

So I'm almost ready to
get this tabletop together...
stay tuned....

And on another note - I am happy to say that Debbie of Debbiedoos won the Haeger Pottery bowl and glass floats for from my 100th follower celebration.  Congratulations to Debbie!

I love what you did with the shells. When my hubby was stationed in Miami with the Coast Guard I made a decoration where I used the shells and put them on floral wire with artificial leaves so they looked like roses. A lot of women were making them in the 70's. I love coastal decor but live in the mountains in summer & central Florida in the winter.

That DebbieDo is the luckiest person I know! She won MY give-away too....That's okay...cuz I love that gal..she is REAL!

I love what you did with the shells. That was a great idea. You know something funny? When I was in Florida I don't think I ever decorated much for Fall. We went right from summery to Christmas in one fell swoop. I do know there are changes but they are just so subtle, aren't they? I can't wait to see your whole tabletop display put together....so far...it is definitely looking good! Hugs-Diana

Hi Debbie,
I really love your fall cloche! I also love your lavender and shell bouquets! What a fun idea! Wow, it's hard to believe that you are in the 80's and up here we are doing well to make 60 degrees :)

The combination of the fall colors, rafia, rocks, & shells is so earthy & organic - it just works. I love love what you did with the shell flowers. But you really should restock your supply....any ideas ;)

I always find it interesting how the people who decorate from the sea incorporate fall and Christmas into their homes. Saw a Santa with seashells the other day-your fall centerpiece looks fun to make and look at!

You did a lovely job... the simple bottles are perfect for the bouquets you made.
