The quiet color of universal love......

I'm currently putting together an inspiration book - to gather my thoughts on how I want to design and decorate my guest bedroom.  I did it a little backwards - by painting the walls before I was certain on the color palette.  So now - I think instead of trying to match to the walls - I will re-do them..once I settle on the look.

I initially thought I would do the room in white...with a bit of light blue toile thrown in.  BUT - now I am not so sure...and am thinking maybe I should do pink.  Besides it being one of my most favorite colors - I think it has the perfect meaning for a guest room.

Pink is the color of universal love. It's a quiet color.  Lovers of beauty favor pink.  A pink carnation means "I will never forget you".  It is a combination of red and white.  The quality of energy in pink is determined by how much red is present.  White is the potential for fullness, while red helps you to achieve that potential.  Pink combines these energies.  Shades of deep pink, such as magenta, are effective in neutralizing disorder and violence.  Pink provides feelings of caring, tenderness, self-worth and love, acceptance.

Put some pink in your life when you want:
  • Calm feelings
  • To neutralize disorder
  • Relaxation
  • Acceptance, contentment

So what better environment to invite your guests into?  These are the first entries into my book...hope you enjoy them as much as I do:

Okay - this isn't a bedroom...but I just could not resist.... I LOVE LOVE this living space......

That's such a good idea about a inspiration book before you attempt to redo a room. I seem to pick out things I love then try to figure out what to do with them. Love all the pinks you showed. Lots of inspiration there. Happy Pink Saturday.

Gosh if I had to pick my two favorites would be the 2nd and 3rd. And if i had to decide between those two it would be the 2nd one! Even though I can appreciate the beauty of all of them.
Happy Pink Saturday!

Fantastic stuff~ I have done the mirror as a headboard in my guest bedroom - I love it. It has a shell motif (of course!).
Thanks for the beautiful post!

Happy Pink Saturday Sweetie...
What a beautiful share today. I would like to take Door #3. I love the bamboo/wicker type with the simplicity of the stripes. Oh that one grabs this old heart of mine. I thank you for all the beautiful shares today. I haven't seen any of these beautiful shares and they are all so gorgeous. I also loved the last one. It is a living room that I could SO love. Beautiful, especially the rug. It just screams beauty to me.

I am Country Wings in Phoenix, your newest follower. I am so thrilled to meet you. I have missed my rounds the last couple of Saturdays so I am trying to catch up on meeting new pinkies that I haven't had the pleasure of meeting. Please stop by and say hi. I would love to have you follow my blog as well.

Have a wonderful Pink Saturday and a great Halloween. Country hugs sweetie..>Sherry

If you create a guest bedroom like any of these ones, your guests may never want to leave!

I always do my rooms backwards too - I've only had to re-paint five or six times ;-)

All are such beautiful rooms. As you know, pink is my favorite color too. I think a guest room in either pink or the blue toile you mentioned would be beautiful. I could not possibly pick a favorite from the rooms you have shown us because they are all wonderful.

Your rooms are absolutely beautiful...so calm and peaceful. You definitely have a wonderful knack for home decor. I was late with my post due to being out of town so I, too, am wishing you a belated Happy Halloween.

I adore soft pink. I'm a fan of casual, so the first photo appeals most to me. But I like the idea of taking inspiration from elements in the different rooms to create something altogether unique... altogether you :-)
