Lily Pulitzer - Queen of Palm Beach Coastal Chic...

The look of Lily Pulitzer embodies Palm Beach Coastal Chic....and now that Neiman Marcus has just added a selection of the furniture line....I thought I'd share some of my very favorite pieces.

While it is a bit pricey...and not the most gold retriever friendly furniture I've seen...I just can't help but want the pink striped couch.  That would look perfect in my living room.  Well, since my couch is similar in style and shape - maybe I can have a slip cover made? Hmm...

Now off to ponder how I can come up with a good enough excuse to my husband that a pink striped slipcover would be perfect for our living room couch....any ideas??

Hope you enjoyed this little tour of Lily Pulitzer's
furniture line offered at Neiman Marcus.

p.s. let me know if you can think of a good
story, excuse, fib, explanationreason or idea
on how to pitch a pink slipcover to my husband.

Or do I just go for it?

Not sure about the pink slipcover...although it would be wonderful. I bet your husband doesn't go for it! Good luck with trying though!

Go for it!! A home is a place a woman makes a haven even for a king. She makes it, and the happier the woman, the more it's a haven. Pink has nothing to do with it. It's her attitude. So if the pink tickles you pink (couldn't resist), and the king is man enough to not be uncomfortable around color, everyone in the castle will live happily ever after. Now, YOU KNOW I'm going to partial about having to have some aqua in there too. :)

If I really want something...I just keep talking about it in front of hubby...and I mean I keep talking about it...over and over...like the golf cart I've wanted forever. On Wednesday, we are going to pick mine up.LOLOLOL

I would just tell Don it was beige and he'd say go for it...lol...

Well, you could just tell your hubby that you ordered beige, and they made a mistake with the pink! haha! And they won't take it back!!

These are beautiful! I like Donna's, just say you ordered one color and this is what came to you. Oh well, but look how great it looks hunny! :)

The couch is stunning...but I must say, I love the chairs, all of them and the colors are beatiful. If you get a pink slipcover, remember, they are interchangeable...there's a fairly good excuse. Good Luck.

The first pink couch is pretty, pretty, pretty! I could do pink!

Just tell him it's soooooo tropical! Pink matches everything, too!

Go For It!!! For some ridiculous reason men are threatened by the color pink...until it's in front of them and then they love it. Donna's idea was great and then you can say you like it and want to keep it. Add a gray throw and he'll love it!
Love this entire line. That pink would be way too difficult for me to resist. I also love that coffee table/ottoman.
Thanks for sharing the fun!

Oh well, husbands and pink don't seem to mix. Maybe there's vintage car angle you can play, haha!

These are such fun colors. I did a little bit of this when I painted my desk chair. I don't think the pink would fly around here either. Too much testosterone!

I'm not a huge fan of those bright pinks (my love is aqua/turqoise), but I love every single picture you posted and do think the pinks are a lot of fun.

As for the slipcover ... if your hubby is like most men, he might not even notice if you just cover the sofa LOL! What's the saying ... it's always easier to beg forgiveness than ask permission? You might just cover the thing and see if he even notices. Note that I am the type that would always choose to discuss it with him first, as I find "just going ahead with a huge plan like that" to be a bit manipulative ...

Discuss it with him first. Just tell him it's a slipcover, not permanent, and can easily be removed. Tell him it's a spring/summer thing, and when fall arrives, off it comes. Who knows, he may even really like it!

Good luck,

Kimberly

Oh-I so loved her stuff when I lived in FL. Don't suppose you could convince the hubster that he has gone color blind? hmmmm...other than that-how about plying him with wine and ....well, you fill in the blanks! Just trying to be a friend and help ya out there! Hugs- Diana

Love Lilly! But I am not too big a fan of "Lilly Pink". However, I could possibly go for one of those pink accent chairs...

I think you definitely just have to go for it with the pink slip cover. Sometimes I can just change stuff in the house and my husband doesn't notice for 6 months, but I think the pink couch would be too noticable. And probably most men would not agree to it ahead of time... so if you show him how good it looks with your decor, he'll have to agree it looks good and live with it, right?
