A Pinkalicious Saturday....

So I thought in the spirit of Thanksgiving Weekend - where it's about giving thanks, counting your blessings...and of course, indulging in great food...

...that I would feature my red velvet cake with pink cream cheese frosting...for Pink Saturday.  I started with my favorite cake mix from Williams Sonoma....

Love the "for temporary relief from hunger" label.....

Had to get out my pink utensils so I could stay in theme....
This doesn't look very healthy....but does look tasty

I can attest to the fact that it
turned out as good as it looks....
Happy Pink Saturday!

Okay---you can have some cake but don't eat cheese with it;>) Now you KNOW I am OFF sweets at the moment and you are posting a picture of red velvet cake? That is the one cake I always associate with my home and the times when my gramma came over. She must have loved it because my Mother always made it for her.

I LOVE your fluted cake plate! It is perfect for a pink cake-looks like it is surrounded by ruffles! Hugs- Diana

My favorite scene from the movie Steel Magnolias is at the wedding when the aunt makes the groom's cake shaped like an armadillo made out of Red Velvet cake. I need to try the Wms Sonoma brand. I went into my 1st Williams Sonoma store in Sarasota a couple of weeks ago. So many awesome things to see there.

I love your pink cooking utensils!! My mom was over for Thanksgiving and couldn't believe how little I have to cook with, so I think I need to stock up with pink utensils and then perhaps I'll cook more! :) Your Red Velvet cake is beautiful! Happy Pink Saturday!

Many hugs and so much love, Sherry

I had no idea there was a mix. And I never thought of putting color in the icing. I'm always on board for cream cheese :-)
